In POLS 250, which is a history of political thought course from Plato to Marx, I engage in some “role playing” and have an inclass debate between the conservative Edmund Burke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. I ask the students to come up with questions for Burke, and then I attempt to answer those questions as a 21st century Burkean conservative might answer them.
